If you are looking to help make our planet “Greener”, this is the club for you! The Green Team came to be in August 2007. Two senior cabinet members were at Freshmen Orientation and were astounded by the amount of plastic bottles that were being thrown away. These two founding members gave birth to the first student generated environmental club in Springfield Public Schools. They applied for a grant from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks to fund bottle and paper collection bins. The environmental activities have included cleaning Fassnight Creek, clean up and beautification of Parkview’s campus, and collecting and emptying the bottle and paper containers each week. Each year this club looks for ways to expand the recycling program at Parkview. This club is a perfect match for students who wish to make a difference in our environment.
